Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen says #Asian players treated better than #Latinos by MLB

(NY Daily News) Ozzie Guillen is at it again.

The Chicago White Sox manager is stirring up controversy with his mouth again, this time for his comments on the way Major League Baseball teams treat Asian players in comparison to Latino players.

“Don’t take this wrong, but they take advantage of us. We bring a Japanese player and they are very good and they bring all these privileges to them,” said Guillen, who is of Venezuelan descent. “We bring a Dominican kid…go to the minor leagues, good luck. Good luck. And it’s always going to be like that.”

Guillen specifically targeted the hiring of translators for Asian players.

“I say, ‘why do we have Japanese interpreters and we don’t have a Spanish one?’ I always say that. Why do they have that privilege and we don’t?” said Guillen.
