Ken Burns agrees to re-edit “The War” to accommodate Hispanic-American stories (Orlando Sentinel)
Posted by Editor under Media/EntertainmentWhen Hispanic-American veterans complained, filmmaker Ken Burns listened.
Burns said Thursday that he will add Hispanic-American stories to “The War,” his World War II documentary that will premiere on PBS in September.
After Hispanic groups complained that the 14-plus hour work excluded them, Burns started filming material that was to be supplemental to his completed documentary. But on Thursday, Burns said he would re-edit the work, which focuses on four American towns, to incorporate the new interviews with Hispanic veterans.
